Steps of Faith is a Christ-centered 12-Step fellowship that meets at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church and is open to anyone interested in recovery. All are welcome! We invite those in Christian fellowship to join this fellowship of recovery. . . and invite those who are in recovery into this Christian fellowship. Together we will share the God-given gift of the 12-Step process and stories of transformation and recovery from all manner of brokenness.
A safe place to discuss and celebrate issues of faith and explore Biblical truths. Mememers of the group are spritual seekers seeking to grow spiritually. Many memebers are involved in various 12 step programs. Discussions are lightly Bible based and often use many other spritual sources such as Case for Faith, the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and the Life Recovery Bible.
This group is designed for people interested in the intersection of mindfulness, meditation and 12 step recovery. Anyone involved in any type of 12 step recovery is invited. We sit for 30 minutes, introduce ourselves, take a short break, then reassemble and offer a reading, then open the meeting to shares. We meet promptly at 7 pm and end at 8:30 pm every 3rd Friday of the month and are donation based.
To be human is to experience suffering. To be in recovery, is to be aware of suffering and willing to let go of that which causes suffering. Each of us has our own life experiences which have brought us to this point, and each of us must walk a distinct path. Buddhism offers a framework to become more aware of the nature of suffering, and how to end suffering. I hope you'll accept my invitation to try these tools yourself, and find ease in your own life.
